Canadian Open is quite unique. The event, that is the ATP Masters 1000. is alternatively held in either Montreal (odd-numbered years). Meanwhile, the WTA Premier Five is held in Toronto. Although not a Grand Slam tournament, the Masters event in Monte Carlo has been drawing tennis fans for over 127 years now. Still, it was only in 1990 that it gained its Masters status. Nevertheless, the Monte Carlo Masters is considered one of the most premiere non-Grand Slam tournaments. Players who join the tournament can win as much as 935,000 euros. The tournament has also been a popular event among legends, such as Rafael Nadal (4 wins), Mike and Bob Ryan (5 wins), and Nenad Zimonjic (5 wins).
